Admissions

Admission into NDU-related programmes is structured to ensure that qualified military, civilian, and security-sector applicants are selected for advanced study and strategic training.

Admission Requirements

Admission into NCDS programmes is highly competitive and requires:

  1. A minimum of a Second-Class Lower degree from an accredited institution.
    Additional Criteria:
    Military Applicants
    1. Rank of Colonel or equivalent.
    2. Passed Staff College qualification.
    3. Recommendation for higher command or strategic training.
    Civilian and Security Agencies Applicants
    1. Rank of Director or above.
    2. Institutional nomination.
  2. Submission of supporting documents, including transcripts, references, and certificates.
  3. GTEC verification for foreign qualifications.
  4. Certified translations for certificates in languages other than English.

Admission Process

Admission into NCDS programmes follows a structured process:

  1. Nomination or recommendation by the applicant's Service, Ministry, or Institution.
  2. Submission of application documents to the College.
  3. Review by the Admissions Committee.
  4. Final selection and admission into the MSS programme.

The National Defence University exists to supervise the provision of academic and professional security education and training for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, other security agencies, public service institutions, and government departments and agencies, both local and abroad.
