Research is one of the main functions of the National Defence University and supports the University's mandate in education, strategic analysis, and societal impact.

Research Role of NDU

  1. Conducting cutting-edge research and analysis on security and defence issues that has societal impact.
  2. Supporting academic and professional military or security education through evidence-based study.
  3. Providing knowledge that contributes to national, regional, and international security and governance discussions.

Research Focus at NCDS

NCDS complements the wider NDU mandate by conducting research and analysis to support national and international security objectives.

Its postgraduate programme integrates lectures, seminars, case studies, and experiential research at both national and international levels.
